New Norwegian film “True Blood” star Allan Hyde was surprise to American motel owner
“Actually, you need permission, but we just flew around and took liberties in the best guerrilla style,” artist Marie Kristiansen told Dagbladet.
Together with the “Predator” director Patrik Syversen she recently played in the new Norwegian drama “Exterior” in Los Angeles.
In record time
From Syversen script with handheld cameras took the recording just one week, which must be almost new Norwegian record for a film.
“We had a mini team that went completely bananas for seven days,” laughs Syversen.
A motel owner first said yes when Kristiansen and a female actor rented a room and asked if they could bring some boys. But he quickly changed his mind about what they were doing.
“It is apparently quite common to rent a motel to make porn movie over there, so when he caught us in the act of shooting, we were thrown out at a night. I tried to say ‘It’s Not That kind of movie’, but he would not listen,” she laughs.
Acquired “True Blood” star
Although the film is an intense and spontaneous affair with a budget the two co-directors refers to as “extremely low”, it is anything but when it comes to movie’s actors.
In film and TV the world in recent years has been obsessed with fangs, namely, the duo has made a small coup.
One male role is played by Dane Allan Hyde, who broke through as the vampire Godric in the second season of the great success of “True Blood.”
“I met him a year ago by Gitte Witt, who plays the one role in the film, so it was natural to offer him a role. When we first met he was totally unknown. When we came back it was almost impossible to walk in peace with him on the street,” said Kristiansen.
Met in Los Angeles
“Exterior” is the result of Kristiansen and Syversen met in Los Angeles and digested with impressions of the city had given them.
“Los Angeles is full of people who have great need for response. They will find themselves, but in the process they lose themselves. Their dreams crushed, but still they can not let go of them,” Syversen.
The film follows their two girls, who come to the film capital with very big dreams.
“We examine how this desire to be seen actually coming from. The film is not intended as a criticism, but can often be seen as a counterpart to the social pornography “Paradise Hotel” trend that is becoming more and more prevalent in society,” said Kristiansen.
“Exterior” has been Norwegian distribution with Euforia and come to the cinema next year.
